                              Music Quotes 2
I think the post about Musical Quotes was really inspirational, and made me rethink my appreciation for music, so without further ado, here's Musical Quotes 2.

  • "After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music." -Aldous Huxley. This quote means that sometimes music portrays a message that can't be said through words, like silence, and that's what music can do that words can't.
  • "Music is everybody's possession. Its only publishers who think that people own it." -John Lennon. These inspiring words show that people all have some music within their souls, and it shows that everybody owns music, not just the famous people that create some.
  • "Music can change the world because it change people." -Bono. As said before, the quotes inspired me, and hopefully others, to appreciate the notes of music, and people are the ones who inhabit our earth, and the future of it depends on us.
  • "Music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life." -Jean Paul. This quote, to me, is quite ironic because through my eyes, music is life, and without it, I don't know where we would be.
                     Bruno Mars Blitz
This paragraph is just to define the true meaning of some of Bruno Mars's songs, if you haven't already. Comment below which is your favorite!

  •  "Grenade"- Well, this song is basically about a person that would do anything at all for another, but they don't feel the same way and/or wouldn't do the same things.
  • "When I Was Your Man" - Being #6 on the Billboard, Hot 100, this song is about a guy reminiscing all the good times between him and another girl, and wishing he could've had time to make more.
  • "It Will Rain" - This song demonstrates a person in an uneasy relationship with another, and its a bit uncomfortable, but one person would willingly face that, rather than a day without the other.
  • "Just The Way You Are" - From its words, this song is meant for the insecure people, whose insecurites are about their looks and beauty. But, this song tells the listener not to worry about their looks because they look amazing.
Well until next time, remember that you're amazing just the way you are.

                            Pitch Perfect
Pitch Perfect is a musical comedy, about competitive acapella groups. This movie brings the low level of popularity of acapella to a whole new level. This movie is unique, because you would think a soundtrack movie would be boring, well this musical comedy includes a lot of humor. It teaches you that anything is possible, even if it means you have to let go of somethings, and work with some others. (Warning, Pitch Perfect may include some foul language, or inappropiate references, so check with your parents before you watch!)
                           Spring Music
Since its nearing the en of April, its also nearing the beginning of spring! And even though some of you hate classical music, there's some included in "Spring Music..." But, if there's any popular pieces about spring, then leave it in the comments section below!

  • "Spring Song" Felix Mendelssohn
  • "Spring" Vivaldi
  • "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky
  • "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven
(Also, since I'm on the topic of spring, visit Fashionista Paradise for spring fashion and must-haves!)

                       BRUNO MARS
Bruno Mars, born as Peter Hernandez, on October 8, is now a singing sensation. But, one of the reasons he is my favorite singer is because he went through a struggle to become famous. Not discovered on the internet, or any other social-networking sites.

"Everything's good right now. It's really paying off because now my songs are on the radio. It took me a while to finally get it, but when I got it, I think I got it right..."

That was one of Bruno Mars's quotes, describing how he worked hard, to get his songs on the radio. In a biography, it said, "It's not like what you see in movies, where you walk into a record company and you're given all these great songs to sing. You have to write the song the world is going to want to hear and play it over and over again." This quote says that you have to face the hard reality of life, and that you actually have to work hard toward your success, which was what Bruno Mars taught me, and can teach us all.

                 Movie Music

Movies have music that can make you feel a certain
way, like in thrillers or horror movies, they put scary, suspenseful music to put the viewers on the edge of their seat, because the movie content is matched with the music. For example, Jaws was for its infamous soundtrack "Jaws," and that was what made the scene so popular. Try muting a horror movie. It will probably be different without the music, whether you noticed it before or not. Well, until next time, try to notice the music.

                   Katy Perry

We all know Katy Perry as the fun, energetic, crazy pop-star, dressing up in candy dresses, and living her Teenage Dream. Bubbly and cheerful most of the time, a lot of fans and girls worldwide idolize her. Born on October 15, this artist published many mainstream albums. She has sold 11 million albums and 75 million digital tracks worldwide. Perry remains the only artist to spend 69 weeks in the top ten of the Top 100. She was nominated for 9 Grammy Awards, and actually had a movie made about her, named Part of Me. Well, this blog post is only a part of her, but it was dedicated to Katy Perry due to her success in the career she was working hard toward.
             Music Inspiration~
Many people have created quotes about music, praising its greatness, and such. So, I've decided to be a little deep in this blog post, aside from all the "Candy Princess" stuff. Here's a few musical quotes. Hope you like them!

  • "One good thing about music is when it hits you, you feel no pain." - Bob Marley. This quote means like music is a force that can touch you emotionally, and make you feel a certain way.
  • "People are like music. Some speak the truth and others are just noise." -Author Unknown. This quote compares human beings, to music. Like some songs are real, and talk about the real things in life, like with some people. But some people, that don't say the right things, are like some meaningless songs.
  • "Music expresses that which cannot be said, and what is impossible to keep silent." - KushandWizdom. This quote shows the power that music, and how its lyrics can mean so much more. Like stuff that would be too hard to admit, and secrets that have to be kept, music can show it.
  • "The earth has music for those who listen." - William Shakesphere. This quote makes you really think about how much you appreciate music, and sets the people who listen to music for the fun of it, from the people that really care and look into the lyrics deeper.
Wasn't that deep? If I should post more, comment below your opinion! Until next time, don't forget to look deeper into the lyrics.

        Harlem Shake vs. Gangnam Style
The Harlem Shake, or Gangnam Style? Gangnam Style is older than the Harlem Shake, but something new could be better. Anyways, both songs are used for a dance, but Gangnam's Style's lyrics are foreign, but Harlem Shake's lyrics are mostly music and the few words that you can hear, you can quickly and easily translate, and you already know. Well, which song/dance do you prefer? After reading this essay, you'll be able to make up your mind easily.
             Now do the Harlem Shake
"Harlem Shake" is a song recorded by American DJ and producer Baauer. The uptempo song did not sell significantly until February 2013, when it was posted on YouTube, when the video set the song to an "Internet Meme." The media response to the song helped increase the song's sales, putting it on Billboard Top 100. But, in the video, many people were dancing to the song in a funny/crazy fashion, influencing many others to second the motion. If you search up the harlem shake, be sure to search up the original one because some on YouTube may be very weird.
                  Gangnam Style
Gangnam Style is a k-pop (korean pop) single from Psy. Even though the song was released in July 2012, it became the first YouTube video to reach a billion views. By the end of 2012, "Gangnam Style" had topped the charts of more than 30 countries, and in September 2012, the korean single was noticed by Guiness World Records by "Most Liked Video." This Korean pop star became a global phenomenon, also by the power of social media, like the Harlem Shake. The channel that originally posted "Gangnam Style" already had 2.5 million suscribers, give or take a few. Having this large audience was a key to a viral video.
                  Compare and Contrast
              Gangnam Style vs. Harlem Shake
         * Go to the link to see the Venn Diagram discussing Psy, and Baauer's differences. *
                           Summary of Both
Well, if you go to the videos (the links will be available to you down below) you have to be aware that I am posting the clean versions, due to the fact I don't know the age of my audience. Back on topic, I feel that the Harlem Shake, in my opinion, would most likely win this Song Wars. (To the right, vote which is better!) The Harlem Shake seems to be better, because it started out small, before it became a hit. Gangnam Style didn't necessarily start out "big" but the story behind Harlem Shake and its producer seemed to be, more like an underdog story, to me. No matter what you choose, music, can obviously have a great influence on anybody, worldwide.
              LINKS TO THE VIDEOS
Here are the links to both of the videos:
(And for Gangnam Style I had to put just the lyrics in english because the video had some inappropiate parts that I didn't want to show on the blog and 95% of the time you can't understand what he was saying. You can search it up yourself if you want, but only if you can handle it.)

And for the Harlem Shake, I couldn't find the real and original version, so here's what it would look like, in a way. Also, its appropiate so you don't have to see lyrics. Until next time, DO THE HARLEM SHAKE!!!

     Justin Bieber vs. One Direction
Are you a belieber or a directioner? Or are you stuck in the middle of this war?  If you can't decide, then this blog post will help you make up your mind. If you already have, then this blog post could change your mind. Prepare yourself for the beginning of the Singer Wars.
                   One Direction

One Direction began their journey through the 2010 UK X-Factor, after Simon Cowell signed them up with a record deal. But, they actually rose to international stardom by the power of Social Media and Social Networking Sites. This popular boy band has already sold at least 14 million singles, and 8 million albums in the U.S. Their accomplishments and achievments include 2 BRIT awards and 3 MTV Music awards! Favored by Directioners everywhere, this British-Irish band's cons and bad sides could not be found. Only nasty remarks of jealous guys and boys could be used as "con," but, any bad information about One Direction, is unlikely to be true. Our next singer, though has a different side.
                  Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber, also one of the male singer that give girls heart throbs, is a powerful opponent for One Direction. Selling at least 15 albums as of May 2012, he is very popular, with 33 million followers on Twitter. Although he sounds very popular like One Direction, he also has some cons. This male singer has been said to take publicity and attention from other musical artists, and also changing girls' ideas of the "perfect guy." Also, he has been involved in horrible scandals unlike One Direction, who wasn't involved in any scandal. But, they have both made huge accomplishments and both broke several records.
      Both of Their Accomplishments

                              Music in Color?!
Can music be, colorful? No, only art can represent that, you might be thinking, but, actually, it can. The song "Colors of the Wind" in Disney's Pocahontas, is a song about colors, of the wind. But it doesn't have to be the title of the song to give it color. The lyrics represent some kind of emotion or feeling, and that's true color enough. Like if a song is a loud, angry song, it might be giving a red color because, when you think of mad, you mostly think of red. Or when a song is a sad mood, it could be blue.  (This blog post was to answer one of my viewer's questions outside of blogger, and I hope this was informative enough!) Comment any song that could have a "color!"
                              Dubstep

Dubstep, created by Skream, is a genre of electronic dance music remix. Its music consists of loud, random sounds mixed together to create a song. It might sound robotic at times, like in the video I posted to the left, it has random sounds popping up, and its really loud. But, sometimes, not all dubstep is like this. Sometimes, on YouTube, people mix popular songs and dubstep together. (Caution, some may be highly inappropiate, so be sure to check for clean versions only, and some may be very loud, so check your volume!) Until next time, don't forget to...be a rainbow.
